Ok, I installed a new PSU (Thermaltake tr2) and a new cpu (fx6300) into my msi 990xa-gd55, replacing a stock PSU and athalon ii x4 645. I did the swap, started up without resetting the cmos (I know, I'm in the future too guys) , and entered the bios setup, which showed the fx 6300 at the top of the screen. Attempted to start windows, rebooted at "starting windows" . . I swapped back to the athalon, reset cmos, went into boot setup, it showed the athalon at the top of the screen, and attempted to start windows, again to no avail. Attempted repair windows, no luck, and now I'm here.

What is a "stock" psu? And can you still test with that one?

Also check all connections in the pc,mean cables. With switching the psu you maybe have pulled something abit loose.Maybe even the sata power connector to the hdd that isn't secure as well.

It was a reboot loop, actually fixed the issue. When I went into windows repair, it was looking for files on the wrong drive. I unplugged every drive except the one windows was installed on, loaded windows successfully, put the BIOS Update for the motherboard on a USB stick, updated BIOS, put the fx-6300 back in, threw on a Cool Master Hyper 212 evo, reset CMOS, and booted successfully. Running smooth, more than doubled the Passmark score and is almost dead silent now. Thanks for the advice!
