Xbox Internet Faster Than PC's

I've just started downloading a game on my Xbox One and I noticed that the speeds I'm getting are a hell of a lot better than i'm getting on my PC that's connected with an ethernet cable. I usually get about 700-800 with a max of like 1 mbps on my PC but the Xbox is at like 4-5 mbps and maxes out at like 80mbps. Anyone know why and how I can get my pc like that?

Hmm from the sounds of it this being from the Xbox store is using a known port number which your ISP is allowing to transmit at a higher network speed than your PC, but as it has been suggested i would run what BadAsAl has recommended as this will give you a true comparison between your devices and I probably already think you will get exactly the same results from both devices.

Test your PC at testmy.net and speedtest.net and see what speeds you are getting.
A lot of download speed has to do with the source of the download. If you are getting good speed per the mentioned sites then it might be where you are going for the downloads on the PC that is the issue.

These were from steam and the xbox store though.

I have the exact same question..I've never seen my downloads go over 540 kbps on steam... Today my cousin brought his Xbox one over to download a game (his internet is capped and ours isn't)..and the game is downloading the game at 4mbps?!? (Interestingly the exact theoretical speed of our ADSL line)

How is this possible? and how do I get my PC to download at this speed?
