Ok, so I picked up a dell inspiron 620 mini tower (not the slim) back in December 2012 and I think its about time to replace the stock psu that came with it. Recently after cleaning my computer the stock psu started making this low humming/mechanical sound (buddy said it's similar to coil whine) but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Does anyone have any good recommendations for a new psu for this desktop? My buddy sent me a Cooler Master extreme power plus 500w 2 years ago which I tried to use, worked fine at first until I shut down the computer and it wouldn't turn back on till I put the stock psu back in.

This is the one he sent me, not sure if the system rejected it or what..

Solution
The old CX(M) (green/black) series weren't very good, but this new CXM (grey/black) series seem to very decent so you could go for it.

Leaning more towardsthe corsair one due to the cable management but some of the reviews are iffy about it crapping out easily, does Corsair have a reputation for that?
