hi all i have an asus maxumus extreme with q9550 cpu 850w silverstone psu and a 5870 gpu i resently try to update my gpu to 290x but when the card is on the system i get black screen not even bios post i have the lastest bios update on the motherboard.dont judge me i know about bottle neck mu gpu but i wanted to start my pc update with just the gpu and then go to a mobo and cpu

What PSU? Do you have the latest BIOS? Did you remove the old drivers before trying the new card? Also be aware the 290X is going to be throttled by your CPU
psu is silverstone 850w full modular and i use one 8 pin + one 6 pin from diferent cables the bios is the lastes 1302 drivers is not a problem icant even see the bios screen but i can hear after a while the windows log in sound but again no picture i tryed difrent hdmi cables nothing again i used another psu again nothing but with my 5870+5850 crossfire running perfect is there a compatibility issues with pci-E 2.0? and the weirdest thing ever is that i have a friend that runs 270x on crossfire at exactly the same motherboard but with an older version of bios can the older bios be my solution ?
