[SOLVED] my Trash can won't open, can some one please give some ideas on why this is happening....

What device are you using and what are the specifications? you can get to these by clicking the apple logo in the top left and clicking "about this mac" in the drop down menu.
It might just be that your trash in obscenely full or something you could try this fix:
Open a finder window and press cmd+shift+g then i that window type "~/.Trash" without the quote marks. This will take you to your trash hopefully
