My question is, since I've never built a PC before, would it be better to build than get a prebuilt? I'm afraid of building a PC on my own then having the computer stop working after a 30 day period. What do I do?

Solution
At $600 your performance is going to be a major disappointment anyway. With budgets that low, i have to suggest PS4 and XBONE. I'm PC master race for life but it takes $$$.

Minimum budget for a gaming build right now should be right around $800, excluding all peripherals.

try to avoid last gen video cards. get an rx 460 instead, roughly the same price and with more performance.
since you have 50 bucks left in your budget, i would advise you to buy a 120gb ssd in addition to your hdd or upgrade your cpu to an i5 so that it can keep up if you upgrade your gpu in the future.

a rx 460 will suffice for 1080p 60fps in a lot of games, it beats the <removed> out of a console. and don't forget that the amount of games on consoles is pathetic. you miss out on almost all indie games and you can't play slightly older games.

The GTX 950 may be last gen but it still outperforms the RX 460 in most games.

Not a bad budget build and has room for future upgrades. You won't find a good prebuilt for that price. Watch a few videos and read a few building guides beforehand and you will likely be ok.

There has been nothing official from Nvidia about the release date of those cards currently everything available is speculation and rumor. Alot of it coming from WCCFtech and they aren't the most accurate source.

Lot of sources tho coming with pictures, specs, and benchmarks also.
