However this one is a little different from the ones I could find. I primarily want to stick to 2D vector based animation using Opentoonz. I'd also like to have the ability to do live stream and voice over, possibly even mix music, so I feel like it's also important that it's quiet. I don't plan to do any overclocking (unless you guys think it's necessary) and the games I'm into are usually not demanding at all when it comes to graphics. My current video card is a GTX 560. I'd like to keep it under $1500 if that's possible.

Here's my first attempt at a build:

Solution
hyper eveo 212 is a great cooler, but lacks a lil in doing the job with teh 6700k

motherboard does NOT allow overclocking even thought you have a "K" cpu

SSD... could look into M.2

PSU... you could go lower if deal is good. (on wattage)

Dont need sound card if you will get a good motherboard

Wireless network adapter? You could get a motherboard with wireless network adapter with a good sound chip and it'll come out cheaper. (a lot of higher end asus boards have Wifi adapters and a good sound chip

some thoughts.. good luck .. let us know

Ohh so that's what the k stands for haha my bad. I'll definitely start reading up on all those ideas, I'd rather not use PCI slots for sound and wifi/bluetooth so that's great to know. So using a motherboard soundcard wouldn't have much impact with recording audio? Knocking the PSU down to the 650w version, for some reason the 550W costs more (Really want that no fan in low usage mode, but maybe I'm overly worried about it being noisy since the case is supposed to be pretty soundproof) Thanks for all the info! I'll do some reading and shift things around

well honestly, im not sure of your "Sound needs" but the premium asus motherboards have a pretty good sound chip, and you can go with that (try it out, if you don;t like it, you can always add a sound card later, but the sound chip on asus premium boards adds up to about a 75-100$ sound card, that's why i dont see any need). as far as Bluetooth..... I dont think they have (you mentioned it). Wifi , a lot of them do.

For overclocking you need a Z170 motherboard. Depending on quality is how much you can overclock. the B150 if you get a good one, will enable the TurboBoost of CPU but will not overclock. also if you are not over clocking there are other motherboard chips than the B series... B150 is for business.. so main focus is business use (i use a B150 for one of my rigs, it's pretty good either way the counter part is H170, so take whichever is cheaper for you.

650w psu is a good spot to aim for. save a few bucks it's not bad.

but the monitor i have no advice for you since i don't really check those things

You've been a massive amount of help, thanks again man. Here's an updated version, decided it's probably time to bring my video card out of the stone age while I'm at it.

Also, I knocked the K off the CPU and switched the cooler to a Shadow Rock LP
(Edit: Also I switched to the ATX version of that motherboard, the total is right around 1300 now after 50 bucks of mail-in rebates)
