This is a pc I built myself, and it was great for over a year. Then I had power supply issues, and when I tried to install a new gpu, the old one ripped my PCIe port out. The port came out way to easily so something was wrong with it anyway. It basically fell out on its own.
I took it to a repair store with great reviews and who have repaired pcs for me before. They build gaming pcs.
They told me the motherboard was useless now, which it is with a port missing and a mangle of wires left over. The problem was my parts were ddlr3, and new motherboards are ddlr4. So I decided to have them replace it with a new motherboard and cpu and ram since my old ones weren't compatible. I thought it would be better to have new parts that would hopefully last for many years.

But now I feel like my pc is not as good as it used to be.
What I had before:

Intel i7 4790K @ 4.00GHz
Nvidia Geforce GTX 970
8GB Ram Corsair Vengeance 2x4
Samsung EVO 850 500gb
Corsair Vengeance 128GB
2TB HDD
Corsair Hydro H50 Liquid cooling system
MSI gaming 7 motherboard
power supply Corsair RM 850

Now:
i7-6700 3.40GHz
MSI Geforce 1070 (The card I choose and tried to install before the pcie port was ripped out)
16GB Ram
Same SSDs and HDD
Same cooling system
gigabyte GA-H170M-D3H
750W Thermaltake Smart Series 80+ Bronze

I can't help but feel downgraded. Firstly I asked for the i7 6700K 4.00GHz, but they installed the 3.40 instead
I have fewer ports on my motherboard and now have to order a insanely long HDMI so I can have sound through my av/receiver
I had 4 HDMIs before, now I only have 2. I would have been screwed and not have sound, but thankfully I updated my first monitor to 4k so I have a dp port.

MY COMPUTER IS SLOWER!!! And it's not just a matter of being picky. I am used to word, crome, music players, files, and even steam opening almost instantly. Now everything is taking at least 20 seconds. I can't even get geforce experience to work. Even changing monitor settings takes forever. Everything wants to freeze when I change settings, or open something
The computer is also louder. I don't know why it would be, its still my fans and liquid cooling system.
This isn't just a pc for gaming, its for work too. For the past year this pc has been perfect. Even when the power supply was having issues it did what I wanted without issues. Right now my little samsung notebook 9 is faster.
I can take it back, they have a thirty day return policy. The only reason I had this repair store do this was because I didn't have the time to remove every part and install new ones. But now I wish I had. The parts they installed are not what I would have chosen either. I don't know much about gigabyte either, but I thought it was a good brand.

I'm not sure if they did reinstall the os. According to my invoice they did a "software configuration"
They said they would install the 6700K, but when I brought the computer home, I found it was the 6700 installed

It's not like the 6700 is terrible compared to the 6700K, but with the issues I am having, something has to be causing it. And this motherboard they installed is so tiny. It could fit into a 13" laptop it is so small
