Best CPU to compliment the GTX Titan Z Graphics Card?

Hello!

I recently won a GTX Titan Z card from a drawing at my local computer store. So, I thought that I might as well make a gaming beast with it! Anyway, I was wondering what CPU would compliment this baby? I have done a little research, but I've seen a lot of mixed results and I hope that this would narrow my options.

I'd say a i7 5930k they generally compliment GPU's better due to the more lanes especially if you are thinking about having more than one GPU. But that's if you want to go over kill. If not get the I7 6800k. It all depends on your budget.

A single gpu still only gets 16 lanes so you just get extra lanes that aren't even used. Even with multiple gpus, not even a dual gpu card like the titan z will get more performance from 16/16 vs 8/8. You can also find 16/16 z170 mobos with plx, although not worth it. The 6700k is the best value with most games not using the extra cores, not to mention the others are older architectures.
