The i7 6950x and many of the broadwell-e preccesors. However its crazy expensive. More realisticly the i7 5820k would be a great choise. Might be an older architecture but it comes with DDR4 +m.2 +many pcie lanes and all the new technologies and its faster in gaming than the i7 6700k and much faster in apps that benefit from multiple cores.

Imo best choise for gaming is the i5 6600k. Its very overclockable and you ll get more performance out of your money if you spend the rest of the money on a better gpu.

'Will a new gaming CPU come which is better than 6700k? Soon?'

Kaby Lake should be releasing soon, the i7 7700k is showing promising increases in leaked benchmarks.

Other than waiting for that, the i7 6700k is the best you can get for gaming currently. It can run pretty much any game without issue.

Of course i7 6700k can run every game. Thats not the issue here. Every i5 and i3 can run all the modern games too. Whats more important is that the i7 6700k is 100 Euros more expesive than the i5 6600k but will only slightly increase your framerate. However if you spend those 100 Euros to get a better gpu you ll get a much higher performance increase in gaming.

My thoughts exactly. The best CPU isn't necessarily the most powerful, but the one that most represents value for money. In that case, an i5-6600K could be considered "the best CPU".

Obviously the i5 6600k is better value, I was answering the original question about the i7 6700k.

As you said konius, the i7 6700k would not show a noticeable improvement, however it is an improvement nonetheless. Even a tiny improvement over the 6600k makes it technically better, but in most real world gaming application there is no real difference, as we can all agree.
