CPU/GPU combination - which is best?

Solution
If i had to pick, I would probably go with the i5 and RX 480. Some games it will do better and when not gaming, the i5 would be better. But why not use the i5 and GTX 1060? It looks like it would only add another 40 Euros.
I think this is one of those comparisons where there isn't going to be a clear cut winner. Depending on the game and resolution played at, I would expect them to trade blows. In many cases, the i5 and i3 put up identical numbers, but the i5 will have an advantage in more CPU intensive games. Either combination would work well for 1080p and I don't think that one is going to be significantly better than the other in any case.

I think I'd go with the i5 6500 and rx 480 combo. Most games let you turn down graphical settings in order to achieve better framerates. If your CPU is bottlenecking, there's little you can do to improve performance. Down the road, I think it would be easier to sell the 480 to help pay for a future GPU upgrade than it would be trying to sell the i3 6100 to pay for a CPU upgrade.
