Can DDR4 RAM modules be installed in Dell inspiron 5559 laptop (i3 6100U)?

In India, Dell inspiron 5559 laptop comes with i3 6100U processor but 4 GB DDR3L RAM.

Since it is a 6th gen skylake processor, it should support DDR4 RAMs.

But dell has bundled DDR3L modules with this laptop. My question is can I install DDR4 rams into the slots in future if I want to upgrade?

The answer you're looking for are here, the supported ram for I3 6100U is as followed:
DDR4-2133, LPDDR3-1866 and DDR3L-1600.

No. The slots for DDR3L and DDR4 are physically different, if you want to upgrade your RAM you would need to get a correct DDR3L module for the laptop.

CPU supports DDR4 and DDR3L - yes.
But Dell inspiron 5559 supports DDR3L only.
DDR4 and DDR3 have different slots. You can't install DDR4 into DDR3 slot.

I have that tool since you helped me with another question but the problem is I don't have the laptop yet and I will not buy it since it can't be upgraded to ddr4. Thanks.

There really is minimal performance difference to DDR4 unless the DDR3L ram is running at a really low speed (like 1333mhz) Its runs at 1600 mhz on that pc which is comparable to DDR4 2133 because most DDR4 runs at somewhat higher latency. Point being if the Laptop is a good deal the performance difference is minimal.

I understand your point but I would prefer to have ddr4 RAMs combined with a skylake processor. I am not a frequent upgrader btw.
