I recently bought a 2nd Ram stick (8gb) to install to my computer. I installed it and made sure everything is all good in the bios and boot it up normally and restarted a couple of times. After an hour of just using my computer, it randomly shuts off but one fan is still active. I couldn't turn it off either so I had no other choice to unplug.

After times of trouble shooting decided to take off that ram stick and use an air compressor to get rid of any dust in that area. After that, i booted it up and its turned on and everything is normal. But heres where it gets worse. After an hour of usage, my computer randomly goes black one the screen and everything stop working. My computer is still on but I cant do jack. Im honestly puzzled at this point and dont know what to do!

Solution
Does it return to a normal working condition if you remove the new ram and run without it?
If so then the new ram is incompatible with the motherbd or existing ram. This is why I usually suggest buying a compatible kit and selling the existing ram; less hassle and the ram manufacturer will honor their compatibility claim if there is.
