6.96 gb of 8gb used!

Hi ,
I recently formated my pc , with same system and config as before but before my ram could use 7.9 of 8gb of ram now is using only 6.96 of 8gb of ram , what could be ? I am using PCI gpu

Specs :
Amd a8 6600k
msi a88xm e35
corsair vs 550
xms3 corsair memories
r7 250x 2gb

I wouldn't worry about it since all 8gb are still visible. Less RAM usage is a good thing!

I assume you are on Windows 10? The new Win10 update changed how your OS manages RAM, I bet that is the likely cause of the reduced load.

If all 8gb is available then your PC will allocate the memory as required by apps and games. It is only if you have less than 8gb available that less will be allocated.

it is possible that when youreinstalled it applied some windows updates you may have skipped. go to system properties and see how much ram it says you have. if it is saying 8GB then it will use it but if it is saying in there that there is a certain amount usage them i would check your BIOS settings to make sure the onboard GPU is still disabled

on system says that I have 8gb ( usable 6.96 gb)

I will update win 10 and will disable IGPU and give some feedback after that .
after update windows I am using all the ram again , thanks to all for the help.
