Currently looking to build a pc for game programming and actual gaming, here is the current setup I'm gunning for. which i'm hoping will last through quite a few years:
PSU: EVGA Super Nova 650W G2
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060
CPU: Intel i7 6700K
Case: Corsair Carbide 200r
Cooler: Hyper 212 Evo/ Hyper 212 X
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3P
RAM Kingston: 2x4GB HYPER X FURY DDR4
SSD: Kingston SSDNow V300 240GB
Hard drive: WD Caviar Blue 1TB 7200RPM
This is my first time building a PC, and I'd like to know if the motherboard's PCI-E slots are enough for all of these components? It has:
1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16
1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x4
2 x PCI Express x1 slots
2 x PCI slots
From what i understand, the gpu takes up x16 slots. What i wanted to ask is, does this motherboard have enough PCI-E Slots? To be honest what kind of expansion cards should i get? Sorry for the lengthy question, would appreciate any explanation!

Solution
yes that setup is fine. (although i would grab 16gb of RAM, 8gb is starting to be more of the entry level).

not many people really use the PCIe slots outside of enthusiasts who add in more than 1 graphics card or PCIe SSD's.
your ssd will use sata so you dont ahve that issue and youre only getting 1 gtx 1070 so thats not a problem.

things you would use the other slots for would be a better sound card (the one on your motherboard is more than fine though), a wifi card (if you need wifi, this would be useful). past that.. im honestly not sure what people even use pcie slots for

also, what currency are those numbers in?

but that does look like a solid build to me. if youre going to be seriuosly programming, i would go for the 6700k. if youre doing lighter workloads then the 6600k should be fine

Probably a silly question but I don't need any extra components or expansion cards to utilize the usb ports or ethernet cable for Internet right? Remember that I read somewhere regarding those things
