I currently have a Gigabye Am3+ motherbaord (GA-990FXA-UD3). After going to a PC repair shop, they concluded my CPU fan header has a problem. Afterward we plugged it into the PWR fan header and it seemed to speed up to cool down when enecssary and what not...either that or it was plugged into the system fan header, but I think it was PWR. My question is does plugging it into that header work in replacement of the CPU. Does it slow down and speed up when it needs to or am I just imagining?

Also I plan on running a push pull conogifuration on my 360mm radiator. My question is how do you plug aall the fan into the mobo. Because there are no 6 way fan splitters and if I use other fan ports they wont speed up when needed to cool down when the CPU or GPU are under load. Any ideas?

Solution
Yup I set the system one's speed to a reasonable level to pull air though my CM 212. The CPU header pushes the other that runs either higher or lower depending the cpu temps.
If its not the cpu fan header its acting on your motherboards temps. While its nearly the same the cpu will heat up a bit before. I have a push pull with one on the system header which I just set to a reasonable level and let the cpu fan take care of the rest.

That's not what I am saying. What I am saying is my CPU header is defective and I need an alternative if there is one.

As for push pull, should they all be going one speed?...other wise the slower ones aren't doing anything to help.
