I am having tons problems, and no help. I have ide secondary w a CD-RW n DVD rw and HDD w OS on primary ide. 32o HDD on SATA for extra space. I'm really fam w software, learning as I go on this stuff. My CD DVD drives haven't been reading discs at all, but show in device manager ok . Msinfo no prob devices. I've uninstalled drivers and reinstalled. No reg to delete. Really about everything but clean lens. But pc had been booting fine.
So I grabbed DVD RW out of my other built pc and tried to c if would read and my other drives are just done. But I seen my ide w my OS hdd was hooked w gray(the slave connector) (even tho it had been booting as master) so I switched and hooked up the black one. Now when I boot, BIOS recognizes ide primary hdd slave and ide DVD master And slave. Goes to raid screen, XP logo screen, then we're standstill black screen, for 6 hrs atleast till I just turned it off..... Man anyone help please would greatly appreciate anything considering I can't let my young n watch movies
