Hello my fellow PC mates,

I have a samsung ssd and a usb 2.0 stick, file copy speed dramaticaly gets slower after around %50 or so, ssd have no any negative smart values, the file I'm copying is a video file (mp4) first starts around very nice speed around 25 and then downs to 17-18, is that normal? I assume that happens because usb flash drive is old 2.0? transfering speed means writing data to paste location matters right? because I have a also 3-4 years old hard disk, I tried to a another video file (2gigs size) and that transfered almost perfectly to a USB 3.0 64GB flash drive. usb 2.0 is that old?

is this normal? because I'm working with huge video files, this is vital for me to learn
thanks in advance

Solution
It could be that it is old, and that the higher transfer rates are also probably due to the buffer and once the buffer is filled up, which while it is filling it seems faster but in the background is writing at its normal speed. if it happens on a constance basis i would say it is just the buffer. You can use Crystal Disk Mark to test the speed of the flash drive
