Hi,
I am a first time PC builder and looking for someone to review my parts list before making the purchase. Ideally it will cost less than $2k, but I can be flexible if the performance justifies the cost. I intend to run mainly engineering software such as CAD (creo, solidworks, etc.), ANSYS, Mathcad, etc. This is not for work, but purely for learning. I will not be storing photos/music or playing games with this machine and I intend to build it myself.

I have chosen an unlocked processor, but I don't intend to overclock. Currently there are 2 SSDs on my list - one for backup and one for running the software. The biggest concern I have at the moment is the GPU. Originally I was planning on the Quadro M2000 because of its price/performance/certification/etc. but I had someone else review the list and they are recommending the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 8GB G1 Gaming Video Card. Also, considering the Quadro M4000, but I am not sure if the extra $300 is worth it for my purpose.

Its hard to speculate on file sizes because I really don't know how detailed I am going to get with this.

Whats most important to me is having a reliable machine that performs well enough so that I am not deterred from using it.
