So, i have just installed my new EVGA GTX 1070 Gaming ACX 3.0 (the stock version, no factory overclock) but it is running way over the boost speed according to EVGA PrecisionX utility. I didn't change any settings at all, just opened the software to monitor temps while playing. It was running at around 1870MHz, sometimes reaching 1900MHz, while according to EVGA's website, the boost clock is 1683MHz (1506 MHz base clock).

While the temperature seems ok, i'm worried that running at that frequency may damage the card. Anyone has any ideas why this is happening or if i should worry at all?

Solution
Nvidia's new and improved GPUBoost, it basically does the overclocking for you. Because every GPU comes out the factory slightly different, this way Nvidia can provide you with additional performance without overshooting temperature and power targets (which you can manually raise if you want even more performance).

This is a 100% safe feature, and if it's not too noisy you could even boost the power and temperature targets to get even better clocks.
