Hey, i have 6gb ddr3 655mhz (3x2) can is just buy 8 gb 1066mhz ram
from corsair and would it work?
My mobo supports up to 1333mhz ddr3 i have 4 slots would it work or would i only have the new 8gb ram?

What is the make and model of the first set of ram? the 6GB set.

Normally I would just say buy a 8Gb kit if you want 8Gb of ram, or if you want more then that get a 16GB kit.

With that being said, most of the time mixing stick from different sets will work. Not sure what you first set is, haven't seen a 655Mhz stick. Anyway with mixed sets it will take the lowest Mhz and the highest CL#'s of all the sticks.

so say you 655Mhz runs at CL8 and your 1066Mhz runs at CL9 with both sets installed everything would run at 655Mhz Cl9

Thanks for your reply.

Ehm i picked an ram stick and this is the information which is over: 2GB 2RX8 PC3-10600U-9-10-B0
I am sure it is 655Mhz.
Its probaly from 2010.
It doesnt have an real brand on it.
Its (SODIMM) ram

8GB would be fine, but it would be nice if i also could use my 6GB so i have more.

Also would it really matter an low ram speed?

Thanks in advance.
