Hi there i just bought a new Asus 27inch monitor 1920x 1080P 60hz and need a suitable graphics card replacement for 1080p 60FPS gaming. Which is better GTX 1060 6gb or the RX series i like smooth gaming at ultra if possible :)

My specs
Windows 10 (64 bit )
M5A97 R2 EVO
FX 8320 overclocked to 4ghz
Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo
8Gb corsair 2400mhz ram
128gb toshiba ssd
2000gb hdd sata 3

Going from a 19inch DVI monitor 1280 x 1024 now games struggle at there native resolution

Please help me find a suitable replacement UK sites please :)

Thanks

Joe

Hi there i am thinking on going with the RX 480 due to the extra 2GB of vram Vulkan and Direct X 12 support i need a card that can last at least a few years at 1080p do you think its a worthy purchase newer drivers could also improve its performance i have a baby on the way so this is properly my only graphics card upgrade i can have for a very long while so needs to be perfect :)

Thanks

Joe

You've already had your mind made up complete with a rebuttal so why the thread?

It's easy:
Currently (october 2016) the GTX 1060 is faster in DX11 and the RX 480 is faster in DX12/Vulkan.

What do the games use that you usually play?
What of the unique features of each manuacturer are you using/plan to use?

If you can answer yourself these questions than you have done a decision.

The 480 isnt faster in all DX12 games. Worth bearing in mind.
