Hello everyone,
I have 2 questions about Overclocking my CPU,
1-im about to overclock my cpu after years and I don't know exactly can I overclock CPU's FSB . can I increase it to 200mhz or above and try to decrease multiplier ?
2-CPU Z tells me that you are using 802.5MHz Ram but I use 3 1600MHz ram, 2x2GB and 1x4GB and I tried to change BIOS setup enable XMP (same) after that set DRAM Frq to 1600 and still nothing changed in CPU Z and other benchmark softwares.
my hardware information is :
CPU: Intel i7 870 2.9GHz
MB: Asus P7P55D-E LX
RAM: 2x2GB XMS3 1600Corsair + 1x4GB Apacer 1600
GPU: 950 GTX
PSU: 580watt
and I recently bought a water cooling for CPU.

This video was helpful for me. I have the exact same motehrboard and CPU as you and managed to get a stable 4.0ghz, but have taken it off as I didn't like the temperatures and my case is in the corner under my desk and has terrible airflow, so until that changes I'm not bothering to keep it running. The CPU stayed in reasonable temperatures but the motherboard just got mad hot. so be careful with that.

The CPU turbo boosts to 3.6ghz so it I found a stable OC at 3.7 then brought it up slowly.

A note on the RAM it's DDR so double the figure that your system has reported. 1600mhz shows as 800, nothing to worry about there.
