Is the ASUS Hyper M.2 x4 MINI compatible with Gigabyte B85 Motherboards?

I got an M.2 SSD, and my motherboard doesn't have the slot for the SSD. So I got the Hyper M.2 x4 MINI to act as a converter so I could use the SSD. But the computer simply won't read it. And I put the SSD in a different PC with an M.2 slot and the SSD is good. Also I tested the card in his PCIe slot as well but it didn't work again. So I had come to the conclusion that the card had come DOA. So I returned it and got another one, but this one doesn't work either.

So is it detecting it in the BIOS? Is the software for the drive and/or adapter installed?

Check the BIOS to make sure whatever PCI-e slot you are using is on and powered, read your manual to see which PCI-e Slots are active while others are in use (sometimes one slot can only be used if another slot is vacant). Should be no reason It's not working outside of damage equipment.

I checked and the PCIe slot is working and powered on, but it still doesn't work.

Its not on the BIOS, and when I called ASUS they said there were no drivers for the card.

If it isn't showing up in BIOS thats more than likely a hardware issue. Since it works in other rigs I would say compatibility. But I know my Samsung 850 Pro didn't show up in my system until I ran the installation disk and installed all the necessary software, only then did my drive show up in system management and in my file explorer. But it did show up in BIOS before I installed anything.

I would call Gigabyte and see if they know anything. If their rigs can't use PCI-e based storage that may be the issue. I just don't see any other reason it wouldn't work.
