My current setup has a Pentium G3258 @ 4.5 GHZ with an AMD R9 280. I want to upgrade to a gtx 1060 6gb or RX 480. I run everything in 1080p. Will an upgrade to either of the two cards be bottle necked by my CPU significantly? Should my next upgrade be a cpu + mobo?
Thanks! :)

What are you trying to achieve? Be specific. Running CSGO at 1080p is a totally different job than running the latest Deus Ex game at 1080p. Is your 3258/280 combo struggling with anything now? If so, with what?

The point is, an upgrade to a 1060 might be awesome for you or it might be a waste of money, I can't tell from the few details you've given.

I'm currently playing games like cs go and over watch and am struggling to play bigger AAA titles like gta V, battlefield one, and the new deus ex. Id like to upgrade to a setup that can tackle more demanding games without big fps drops.

I think cpu first personally, get an i5. your graphics card isn't great but can handle games like gta v (maybe not the highest settings) but the i5 will be more stable than the Pentium. then the 1060. have a i5 and 1060 and you will have a pretty good build
