My wife recently bought a new computer with integrated graphics, but because it was laggy I offered to buy and install a new card and ended up with a new HDMI monitor as well.

Hasnt gone well and kind of stumped now.

Installed and plugged in without changing the BIOS, didnt work, uninstalled turned off in BIOS reinstalled didnt work, but now cant replug back in to the onboard graphics as I think I turned that off in BIOS rather than leaving it turned on.

So long story short, cant see anything through onboard graphics or through the new graphics card.

Gigabyte ga-f2a78m-hd2 motherboard, running latest bios
XFX R7 360P 2N graphics card.

Hair starting to fall out now :(

With the card installed you won't be able to see anything with the onboard graphics (I had a similar problem once and know this from experience), since you disabled onboard graphics you will need to reset your BIOS, and plug directly into the MB with your video cable. Once you do this leave the card out and see if the onboard graphics will work. If it does, then try uninstalling all graphics drivers (except onboard) and then reinstall the drivers for the card you want to put in. Cut power, Install GPU, boot to BIOS (if you can, if not plug into the GPU and skip the next steps), make sure the card shows up, shut down, plug into GPU, boot, everything should be normal.

In my experience when a card won't show up in BIOS its a bad card or...

I'm not sure what's wrong with the card, as long as the video connectors are plugged into it.
However, you can just clear CMOS to reset your BIOS settings to default.

Check the user manual for your computer to see how to do this, or look around the board for a jumper you can move to clear it.

If there's not one, just take out the CMOS battery. (Assuming your newer computer still uses that. If not, look for jumpers.)

Found the jumper and reset, so now just back to square 1, but a weekend when the kids arent around should give me a clear head to work on that, i think i read i need to force the onboard graphics rather than auto or off them

In my experience when a card won't show up in BIOS its a bad card or a bad PCI-e slot.
