I recently bought an ASUS x99-E motherboard, an Intel Core i7-6800k, and an Intel 5 Series M.2 SSD (Product Code SSDSCKKW360H6X1). I intended to install the Windows 7 OS on the M.2 drive and use my other hard drives (from a previous build) as other storage, however, the M.2 drive is not appearing in the Windows installation screen. I have done some research, and attempted to do the suggested fixes, however nothing seems to work. I then did more research on M.2 SSD's and found that the one I have is a SATA III SSD, whereas my board only supports PCIe SSD's because it shares the bandwidth with a PCIe slot. Is there any way to utilize this SSD at all given the above information? Do I have to buy an adapter or something in order to use it, or is a new board/drive necessary? Thanks in advance!
