Hi all,

I know this is possible and I have a Dualshock 4 controller that I can use with my PC when connected with a USB cable. But I am wondering what the easiest and most reliable way to use either a PS4 controller or Xbox One controller wirelessly with my PC is without having a lot of input lag or lost connections.

I am aware there are bluetooth USB adapters but I have read a lot don't have good range and have too much lag. The lag should be equivalent to a console or better which I think is doable.

What are my options? Thx

Ok.. this sounds like a great solution.. It would require me to buy both the xbone controller and the adapter though.. so last resort.

What about with the dual shock 4? I already have one and I use the DS4 software to make it work with the PC which seems like there is some sort of bluetooth options there but because I don't have bluetooth yet I dont know.

Just afraid to get one that wouldnt work well with this type of thing (range and input lag)

i've used a ps3 controller wirelessly for years. my motherboard has onboard bluetooth support and i never had a problem with lag. the problem has always been crappy buggy software which was finnicky to get started (motioninjoy is horrible). if you have decent software (there are newer better than mij solutions) and a bluetooth dongle it you're likely fine.

since you use ds4 i believe you should be able to just use that, a bluetooth dongle and your controller.

the only other options are an xbox controller with its dongle or products like logitech wireless controllers.

Ok cool. When you refer to the decent software, is DS4 decent? It seems to work pretty good but may be slightly buggy as it is emulating an xbox 360 controller.

it cant be as bad as MIJ.
- really basic and bad interface
- no instructions and you need to figure it out
- bluetooth or controller connectivity can drop randomly
- can often be finnicky to get started and recognize controllers
- does not always pair easily with controllers
- annoying ads
