Hey guys, just a simple quick question. What the heck is the difference between the EVGA 1060 SC and the FTW+ ? As it stands right now, the FTW + is roughly $40-60 more than the SC edition. Everywhere I've read and seen on youtube shows the SC to be a super sweet spot, so what the heck justifies the extra money for the FTW + besides an extra fan and it looks cooler?

see here for a list of specs and such to see the differences http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-3047729/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1000-series-megathread-faq-resources.html#17902600

the ftw card actually uses a better pcb than the sc card. not that it makes any difference in fps but the ftw card is a very over-engineered pcb for the 1060 gpu. that's the price difference.

the "binning" comes into play for the ftw vs ftw+ cards but not for the sc vs ftw ones. they are a different card completely and are not tested until they are finished being made.

and of course the ftw card has dual fans which has tested much quieter and cooler than the single fan sc card despite it being so low powered. 1 fan is "enough" but the dual fan is a lot...

Google a term called "product binning".

It's the same difference between an i5 6400 and a 6600k, between the Gigabyte Windforce and G1 cards, between EVGA's SC and SSC and FTW and FTW+ (however many more they add in there), between the FX 8350 and FX9590, I could go on with a really long list here.

Dual fan solutions are singificantly quieter and run cooler. That's about it.

(the 1070 and 1080 ones are not worth it but this one is)
