How do i recover didgital pc games if my hard drive dies, or move them to a larger hard drive if i upgrade. Also, if i get a game from steam, can i only play it through steam or can i make a desktop folder for my games? ...I'm a console to pc convert in progress if these questions seem juvenile. Thanks.

Steam is where you will probably end up getting 99% of your games. You have to play them through steam. Lets say your HDD goes kaput. No worries, just get a HDD up and running and you can just re download steam and all your games, no charge.

You can make a desktop folder for quick launchers into your games you get from Steam, but it swill open steam up along with the game.
