i3 6100 vs AMD A10 7860K

Which is more powerful? Good for video rendering, gaming and 3D modeling. I have a dedicated gpu which is RX 460 4gb. My current cpu is A10 7860k. If i go to i3, is it considered as an upgrade or a downgrade from my current build? (pls dont suggest i5 cause i know its definitely a choice for upgrade). Thank you in advance! :D

I3-6100 is an upgrade for anything, assuming you will use a discrete GPU.

If you wait for the next best thing, you will wait forever.

If your current pc is doing the job, keep it.
If not change to something that will.

LGA1151 motherboards will permit the use of Kaby lake processors.
What is not clear is what the new 100 series chipsets will do.

so would you suggest that i should wait for the new amd zen or kurby lake?
