So I'm going to build a PC, and I will have an i5-6500 3.2 GHz processor in it. Is the stock cooler good for this or do I have to get an Evo? Also, can someone tell me the estimated temps on the cpu of both of these coolers?

Solution
The stock cooler is generally good enough, you don't 'need' the 212 evo. I'm not personally a fan of intel's stock heatsinks, they use plastic pushpins to mount to the motherboard which can be a bit of a pain. "Bare necessities" comes to mind when installing one but on the plus side, it's included with the cpu.

Temps depend on case airflow and ambient room temps as well as what you're doing. If gaming for hours the cpu might get into the 60's or even 70c which isn't really dangerous, just a bit on the warm side. It's not going to throttle or anything. You'll likely stay around 50-55c with an aftermarket cooler like the 212 evo. If nothing else, try the stock cooler and see how your temps are. If they're fine and you're happy with it...

It might not be a bad idea to pick up some thermal paste like arctic mx4 or similar. Just so you have some on hand. The stock cooler comes with paste preapplied and ready to install but if something doesn't work out, you try to take it off and reattach it (if the cooler goes on a bit crooked) you'll want to clean off the thermal compound and apply fresh.
