I just finished building my new computer in the corsair 540 case, when I settled down and prepared myself to turn on the system I noticed that the power button wasn't working. I opened the side panel, checked that every cable was installed correctly and then I unplugged the case cables that connect to the Motherboard and noticed that the Power Switch cable looked like this: http://imgur.com/a/eWfWi, it didn't look like this before and I was very careful with the cables. Now the only way I can turn on the system is by using the reset switch as a power switch, if you know any way I can fix this or buy a new cable / I/O panel please let me know, I tried to gently push the cable back into it's plastic housing but it didn't work, maybe I was too gentle fearing that I might cause even more damage, so yeah please help me out I don't want to use the reset switch to turn on my system every time, Thank you!

tape it on, or solder it. You could also try reinserting it into the plastic housing and hot gluing it in heck you might be able to hot glue it to the pin.

the way the pwer button works is when it is pressed it connects the two wires to create a bridge between the two pins (it creates a short circuit between the pins). so as long as that wire is touching the pin it's supposed to it will work

Actually, you know what, if that wire still has the tube shaped thing on the end you can slide it onto the pin without the housing.
