How to use the maximum of the Nvidia Geforce 940M in the games?

Hi,
I have a Asus f555lb laptop,with i7-5500U CPU,8 GB of DDR3 and Nvidia Geforce 940M 2 GB GDDR3 graphics card(and also 1 TB HDD,and 265 GB SSD).

I have watched many videos on YouTube,playing GTA V on laptops with same specs as mine,with at least 45 FPS!
I am running the GTA V on my laptop with the video settings set by Nvidia Experience,with 1024x768 resolution,but the game runns laggy on some moments,especially while driving at high speeds,and driving in places with many buildings and vehicles;in those cases the game runs with 15 FPS!

So please help me to unlock the true potential of my graphics card and play games without lag!

By the way,I use Razer Cortex game booster but still the same problem!
Also NBA 2K17 runs laggy!

Please give me some reccomendation!

A 940m is by no means a powerful gpu and gta v is a very resource heavy game I doubt there is much you can do to make it run better besides lowering the settings. What are your gpu temps? If its getting to hot it will throttle and lower performance to cool itself down which could certainly be happening in a laptop, in that case you could set up a custom fan profile to get the fans to spin faster or if it will let you turn up the power limit and temp limit of the card but that could lead to damage or premature failure of the gpu.
