Hello,
I have a problem with Internet connection on my computer. I don`t have Internet access till somebody else is also connected on the same network. My computer obviously likes to have company :). Other computers on the same network don`t have this problem.
Does somebody has the solution to this problem?
System is win10 and computer is connecting to the Internet through Sitecom WiFi USB adapter AC1200. Adapter driver is updated, and I've had the same problem with another network adapter.
Thanks for any help!

Solution
Thank you.

The ipconfig /all for WITHOUT INTERNET ACCESS clearly shows that your computer is unable to obtain an IP address as shown by the self-assigned 169.254.33.30 IP address used when that happens.

When internet works the Sitecom Wifi adapter is working as expected; ipconfig for example shows the ip address to be 192.168.1.68

So what are the differences:

WITHOUT internet access I see one tunnel adapter isatap described as Microsoft ISATAP Adapter #3

Also please notice that WITH internet access that the IPv6 addressing is in place. No so with respect to the WITHOUT internet access.

What I think is happening is that for some reason your computer is not able to make the usual IPv4 connection. However if another computer is on...

However if another computer is on the network then your computer succeeds by using IPv6 protocols - possibly by finding/deriving the necessary information via that computer's presence.

WITH internet access I see two tunnel adapters 1) Tunnel adapter LAN-Verbindung *14, description = Microsoft Teredo Tunneling adapter and 2) Tunnel adapter isa.localdomain, description = Microsoft ISATAP Adapter #2

And I also noted that the description in "WITHOUT" ended in #3 versus "WITH" being #2

I also noted that the Sitecom adapter's " Connection-specific DNS Suffix was blank in "WITHOUT" but given as" localdomain" in "WITH".

There are some other differences in the provided "ipconfigs". Unfortunately I am not well-versed in IPv6 not really having the need to work with it per se. So to avoid creating too much confusion I will forego addressing things that may not be relevant from afar.

But my guiding sense is that there is simply a configuration error somewhere and I would start by looking at and verifying the IPv4 and IPv6 configuration settings on your computer(s). Make sure that you match the router's and network settings. If your IP does not provide IPv6 and/or you do not use it anywhere then uncheck the protocol to simplify things.

You want your computer to look to the router and only the router for its IP address(es).

And perhaps the above will help someone else identify a specific, easily applied fix.
