Recently upgraded my oldish amd cpu to an i5 6600k. Changed the motherboards, cpus and ram, then booted up. Much to my surprise windows (10) remained activated, so I just left it, since I didn't want to bother reinstalling everything if I didn't have to. Since then I've run a few benchmarks, (passmark, Cinebench, also prime95) and my cpu upgrade shows itself well with increased performance. However, my gaming performance doesn't seem to have changed as much as I expected. I was under the impression most of my games were cpu bottlenecked. My gpu is an r7 370, so obviously my cpu could support a much better gpu, but that's an upgrade for later... See, some of my games that didn't max the gpu, now do. That makes sense. The problem is, some games, like World of Warplanes, still don't max the gpu; that particular game tends to use 25-50% of the gpu which makes no sense to me...
So what am I missing? I really don't want to bother with reinstalling windows and all my programs, not sure if that would even help... Is nothing actually wrong or what should I be doing that I'm not?
I have 16gb ram so that isn't an issue. I uninstalled all the amd cpu software I could find.
