Games freezing every hour or so?

Just 2 weeks ago I noticed my games started to freeze including audio after upgrading to a second monitor. I don't know if its because of the dual monitor or if its my computers hardware. I've downloaded all drivers and even a fresh install for my GTX 970 graphic card driver. When it freezes it takes about 20-30 second for it to come back?

I have no idea

What PSU (brand and model) do you have?

Also add specs for your system.

Lastly, monitor your temps with something like HWmonitor http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html to see if your components are not getting too hot.

Specs: GTX 970, I5-4790K, GA-Z97-SLI, Corsair H100, 16GB HyperX, XFX TS 550 PSU,
Samsung 240GB 850 EVO, Kingston 128GB

Thats a good PSU, so I would check the temps next. CPU and GPU temps.

I suggest you watch your video card temps. My guess is the second monitor is putting more stress on the card. Its also possible a drive is developing sector problems. I suggest you check your drives with the drive makers software utility.

Wow that sucks. If the card is still working I suggest you upgrade the cooler.

I would do a physical check of the fans. Power off your PC, then open the side panel. Keep the side panel open and check to see if the fan spins up or not.

I hear the fans accelerate all the time when i boot my PC. Its weird to think I had no problems at all 2 weeks ago now its happening in games such as, rainbow six siege, battlefield 1...

Well, check your temps while gaming, that will tell you if the problem is an overheating GPU.
