After an unfortunate event with my cpu catching on fire I had to use a fire extinguisher on my pc. I had a 4790k + 780ti evga superclocked acx sli going. Of course the cpu is gone but I still have my graphics cards that do not look damaged but are filthy and covered in fire extinguisher powder as you can tell from the title. They don't even look fried.

anyways, I have 3 questions.
Is it even worth cleaning the cards to try and test them?
could the cpu catching on fire have fried the cards? (they don't look fried)
and how should I go about cleaning the cards?

Thanks in advance.

Depends specifically what type of extinguisher it was. Dry chemical which is what many home extinguishers are will damage electronic components. Carbon Dioxide extinguishers or Halon extinguishers will not. I have doubts you used either of those.

Most likely all your components need to be tossed.

lol I know it sounds pretty dumb but the flames were coming from the cpu area. I honestly don't know how it happened. I turned on the PC, started browsing then about 5 minutes later I smell smoke :/
