I was playing Fallout 4 yesterday, and suddenly the computer just turned off. I never had any issues playing Fallout before and never had it shut down on this game. The temps were okay, everything seemed normal. But the computer just shutdown. Now I can't turn it back on, the power button does nothing. However, there is one red light still lit up on the motherboard, so I'm guessing the power supply and motherboard are fine?

Thank you for reading.

Can you try disconnecting your graphics card and connecting your monitor to the mobo? See if at least the monitor posts. If it doesn't, then you'll have to try removing every part one by one to make it post.

Try borrowing a working PSU from a friend and just link up the mobo to it then try booting. If it doesn't do anything, try removing the mobo's battery for 1-2 min then put it back in. If it receives power and just starts for 1-2 seconds try putting everything back on in order. I bet your problem is a fried PSU.

Well, the real culprit was the CMOS battery. After removing it and putting it back in after 10 minutes the computer actually turned on. However, there is no output to the monitor. The Q-code says "b2", but it occasionally changes to "00" or "99". Any ideas?

Disconnecting the graphics card helped. Now the computer boots. The card was only 2 months old so I have no idea why it decided to die. :/ How should I go about RMA'ing it now? To the seller who sold it to me or MSI directly?
