I just picked up an MSI H170i ITX motherboard and it has an m.2 slot on the back. Installed my new Samsung 1TB V-Nand SSD 850 EVO and it won't detect it in the bios. I tried updating the bios and that didn't help either. Please help!

G.Skill 2133 16GB

Titan X Pascal

I see, well either way, the largest SSD I was able to find (unless I've missed something on the page) was with a capacity of around 500GB. So it's possible for the mobo not to support larger capacity SSDs, especially having in mind that this is with the latest BIOS update.
If you have a friend's SSD larger than 500GB you could try, this might be able to shed some light if this is the case or not.
Hey there, skylinegtr191.

Check the motherboard on its manufacturer's website. Click on the compatibility tab and select "Storage Support". Unfortunately I don't see a 1TB SSD supported there. I don't know if that list has been updated, but if I were you, I'd get in touch with the customer support and ask if that drive is compatible and if it is, what could be causing this problem, even with updated BIOS/UEFI.
Of course if you have the option to try the SSD with a different computer and test it for errors with a diganostic tool, just to make sure that it has no issues, would be great.

Hope that helps.
