Hi,

I was installing ubuntu in my laptop and wanted to format my C: drive but i misclicked and ubuntu started installation which lead to unmounting of all the partitions on my drive. I realized my mistake and in about 10 seconds I switched off my laptop. The installation process had only unmouted all the partitions before I took evasive action. Now I wish to know that is there any way by which I can get it to mount again in same configuration or recover data from it. Also the drive D & E were encrypted with bit locker and I have the encryption key with me .

thanks for your replies

If those drives that lost their partitions were encrypted you are not in good shape there. Look up how to recover encrypted drives, there is info out there but I have never seen anyone actually get something back without professional help.

Also not really sure what exactly happened here, are those D and E drives actually separate hard-drives or just partitions? If they were just partitions, a clean Windows setup on the C partition should allow you to see the other ones as long as you did not wipe the full drive. And as long as you have the bitlocker recovery info you need, you can get into the other partitions.
