Hey all, Just recently started having issues with a built PC concerning the exhaust fan. I've tried asking around on the techsupport subreddit, but I got about as much help as a broken arm.

Anyway, here's the facts:

- It's a single 120mm Red LED fan (GameMAX, to be specific) and had no trouble whatsoever until about 2-3 weeks ago.

- The fan itself is a 3-pin plugged into the motherboard and also comes with a 4-pin molex, should daisy-chaining be an option.

- The fan will NOT start up when turning the PC on initially, it's only when I reach desktop login, hardboot the PC down, and turn it back on will it begin to work for the rest of the day. Turning it off anytime between initial startup and reaching the desktop/login screen will provide the same result = Fan not working.

Specs are at the ready, should they be needed (Though I'm running a EVGA SuperNOVA 550W Gold PSU)

Solution
sounds like it just plain time to change it, most fans only last at best 1-2 years I just replace 3 on my pc that were doing what you talking about. and after running the fan optimizer from Asus, all is well again
