DDR3 RAM Upgrading

Dear Freaks and Geeks,

SPECS:
CASE: Fractal Design Define R4 - Black Pearl
CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K Haswell OC @ 4.0GHz with Noctua NH-D14
MOBO: ASRock Z87 Extreme4
GPU: ASUS ROG GeForce GTX 1070 STRIX-GTX1070-O8G-GAMING 8GB
RAM: 4 x G.Skill 2GB DRR3 1333mhz (PC3 10600)
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3 500GB 7200RPM 16Mb 3GB/s
SSD: OCZ 1TB
PSU: OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W
MONITOR: VS238H-P Black 23" 2ms @ 1080p 60hz

I'm running 4x2GB DDR3 1333 RAM sticks and was wanting to upgrade to 2x8GB DDR3 2400 RAM sticks. But... My CPU Cooler NOCTUA NH-D14 is too big if I buy ram with heatsinks on them. What to do now? I think I may be able to fit them in slot 3 and 4... wouldn't that hurt my performance? Don't you always want to use 1 & 3 or 2 & 4 together?

Let me know.. I'm a noob

Note: Also did the research that DDR4 is not worth the upgrade.

Also, most DDR3 2400 RAM sticks aren't working with my mobo (http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z87%20Extreme4/?cat=Memory)

To run 2400 may need more of a CPU OC. Might look at the Savage sticks, and yes 1-3 or 2-4 is preferred as it enables dual channel which can be a 10-15% performance advantage

The Gskills Ares in that list is compatable with the heatsink. Most of the asrocks memory campatible list aren't up to date. As long as the mobo can handle 1.65v should work.

The CPU is native to 1600 DRAM, it may not be able to carry 2400 sticks at stock, an OC of the CPU is often required to help the CPU's MC carry higher data rates

Lol I just installed everything in my new case... Will have to take my cpu cooler off to install the new ram. This iis ridiculous xD

So they should run no matter what.. just a chance they may not run at full performance.. right?

Simply enable XMP and select profile 1, if problems, adjustments can be made via the BIOS

I installed the DDR3 ram and changed the XMP profile to DDR3-2133 and the rest on AUTO. Speccy is showing this:

Looks good, good temps, DRAM freq at 1066 (so data rate is 2133 as it's DDR (DOUBLE dta rate )
