pc freezes for a minute or 2 then works again

hi guys i've got a new pc for a few months already and suddenly it started freezing at random times for like 1-2 minutes then it unfreezes and works properly again

here are my specs

i5 4460 @3.20 ghz
8gb ram
nvidia gtx 750ti

any help would be appreciated, have a good day/night

Could be virus, malware, bloatwar, disk sector damaage, memory issues, and much more. I suggest you use the drives disk utility to check it's smart, self test, and others. Use a memtest to check your memory and if you find any issues try remove one to near down which is the problem. Check for virus using avast and malwarebytes for malware and uninstall bloatware.

as far as malware and stuff goes its impossible since it happens even if i reinstalled windows (which i did 7 hours ago) so ill give a go to your other suggestions

KK if everything else turn up good test the video card. I suggest removing it and using the intergrated gpu. If the freezing stop then its either your video card or power supply.

Also check your windows power settings. Energy saving could cause issues.

i was just saying that I have same problem on my pc and it has the same video card nvidia gtx 750ti. Maybe it's video card or the video driver ?

power settings are fine and i cant run memtest since i dont have an usb that can boot off it so yeah, anyone got any other advices perhaps?

If you have 2 ram sticks try removing each one at a time to see if the freezing stops. Could find either one is bad or that reseating the ram could fix the issue.

Any chance a friend could test the Ram? You may need to get parts check in another working system. Video card, psu, and ram to find the bad part. If none of these show the issue then its either the motherboard or cpu. You could upgrade to a second 8GB of the exact same. Get dual channel rolling may fix the issue.

Does the mouse still move when it freezes ? does the start menu still open ? does the num lock light go on and off when you press num lock ??
