I apologize in advance for the giant wall of text you are about to see but I figured that the more detailed I was the more specific the feedback I would get.

I have spent about a week looking at various parts and builds and have come up with a build that seems okay to me. Mainly I am hoping that the community will be able to tell me if this build will be able to run the games I want smoothly and if not then what could be done to make it so.

I live in Canada so I think the prices are much higher here for hardware but it could just be the site I have been using. I have been using the Memory Express website to configure my build. I picked memory express because they are a local store with a good reputation and I have heard favourable things about them from friends here in the city.

Approximate Purchase Date: Looking for sometime around December 2016 as there will probably be deals around that time.

Budget Range: $1500-$2000 The prices I have used are from Oct/15/2016. They have some deals going on right now though so prices may change. I am actually looking for something around the $1500 range but I am not sure that is going to be possible with the site I am using without compromising on a relatively high end computer. Actually I don't know if a relatively high end computer will cut it and may need to simply go for a high end computer. May have to take the hit and dish out $2000. I have added some extra fans for the case and cpu but I don't know if they're actually necessary. I am also not sure if the PSU is overkill or not.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming is the most important thing to me here. I play a fair amount of multiplayer games as well and require a fast and stable internet connection. For everything else adequate will do.

Parts Not Required: Don't need a a mouse, keyboard, or monitor as I already have those. I'm not upgrading. I simply have a bunch of old stuff from my parents that I plugged in to a laptop which I am currently using.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Memory Express

Country: Canada

Parts Preferences: I would like to use the Intel Core™ i5-6600K Processor, 3.50GHz w/ 6MB Cache as I believe this to be the most economical choice for me based on what I have read.

Overclocking: I am not specifically looking for overclocking but would not mind doing it if that's what it takes to run my games.

SLI or Crossfire: No. I am planning to use only 1 video card as that would be cheaper. Unless only having 1 card would place too much stress on it?

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1200

Additional Comments: I am an avid gamer and play a variety of games. I do not need to run them at ultra or high quality. Generally I keep everything at medium quality. I am looking for something that will run smoothly and fairly silently at medium quality but will take higher quality if it's possible to fit into the budget. I do not know if the build I have put together is efficient or if any of the parts will actually fit into my chosen motherboard. I also don't know if the motherboard is any good. I am also concerned with the cooling on this thing. I don't want to put together a high end rig only for it to melt a week later. Also not sure if the parts I've crammed into this thing are too much for the motherboard to handle. Please help me to not screw this up.

Games I plan to run: I am looking to play games like Skyrim, minecraft, league of legends, warframe, crusader kings 2, europa univesalis 2, deus ex:game of the year edition, divinity: original sin, farcry 3, god eater 2 rage burst, life is feudal, lord of the rings online, middle earth:shadow of mordor, space engineers, total war:warhammer, vindictus, sid meier's civilization 5, stellaris, endless legend, the sims 3, starbound, stronghold 3, torchlight 2, tropico 5, wargame:red dragon, warhammer 40k dawn of war and the Witcher 3 on at least medium settings.

The actual build: This is what i have put together using the site's system configurator tab

Little description too.

CPU
Same as the one you picked.

CPU cooler
Put in the best CPU air cooler there is. (It does fit into your case.)

MoBo
Since you probably want to OC (overclock) and like to use faster RAM than 2133Mhz, a Z-series MoBo is needed. So i put one in that comes as a combo deal with CPU (combo deal savings are about $18).

RAM
Went with 2x 8GB (16GB) DDR4 RAM at 3200 Mhz.

Storage
Switched out your 2.5" SSD with ultra fast M.2 NVMe SSD, while gaining 6GB of storage space.
Picked a WD Blue HDD for storage. In my opinion, WD Black doesn't justify it's high price. If you want better performing storage device, might as well go with SSD than high priced HDD.

GPU
Knowing what parts to pick allows one to get a better GPU. In this case, a GTX 1070.

Case
Since case is a personal choise, i didn't changed it.

PSU
Put in a 80+ Gold, 550W PSU that comes directly from the best PSU OEM. For your build, even with GTX 1070, you'll do just fine with 550W PSU while having a plenty of room for OC.

Optical drive
Put in one generic DVD writer since the case doesn't come with one.

OS
Same as the one you picked.

Final build is cheaper than your initial build while being much better performer in the games.

Here's also a bench between your build (base) and my suggestion (alternative).

Userbenchmark PC Build Comparison

Baseline Bench: Game 82%, Desk 89%, Work 58%
CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K
GPU: Nvidia GTX 970
SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 250GB
HDD: WD Black 1TB (2013)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2666 C16 2x8GB

Alternative Bench: Game 120%, Desk 115%, Work 72%
CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1070
SSD: Samsung SM951 NVMe PCIe M.2 256GB
HDD: WD Blue 1TB (2012)
RAM: G.SKILL Trident Z DDR4 3200 C16 2x8GB

And for last words, here's my suggestion vs Witcher 3,
