Much better off with the i3 & HDD. An SSD is very nice to have but in games the only benefit is reduced load times, it does not help fps. The 2 threads of the Pentium is going to make a weak base for gaming, the i3 has 4 threads and does really well in games. You can pair that i3 with a really good gpu like the 1060 and it will work very well.

It's also cheaper and easier to add an SSD later.
