Greetings, i have some problems with my water block CM Nepton 280L:
1- where should I plug the pump? should I use the CPU OPT header or one of the chassis fan headers and set it to full speed?
2- DC or PWM for the pump?
3- the pump rpm reads 7218 on the bios, is that a false reading or is it actually that fast?
thank you

First thank you for your reply :)
I don't think that I can actually connect the pump to the CPU_FAN header and set it to full speed because this will simultaneously force the CPU fans to run at 2000 rpm all the time. While my ASUS mobo allows me to control each header separately, the CPU_FAN and CPU_OPT are one and run the very same setting. I wish I could understand what causes the faulty reading, maybe then I can decide the fate of the cooler master nepton 280L; throw it away or live with it :) Psychologically speaking I do not tolerate something that is not functioning properly.

Connect pump to the CPU_FAN and radiator fans to SYS_FAN header. This way you can control the fans and pump separately.

It's hard to say what causes the false reading.
You could, however, try using secondary software to monitor your RPMs. Here, i suggest SpeedFan.

Note: SpeedFan can't control the CPU_FAN header, only monitor it.
This program is meant for power users and setting it up might be somewhat tricky. Though, there are set up tutorials on that site.

It's other way around, Cooling fans should go to CPU_Fan header and pump in either CHA_FAN or SYS_FAN. Pump needs to run full speed all the time so if you are controlling auxiliary fans speed it should be connected to PSU directly.
Some MBs include pump header and it's not controlled.

That's true, the CPU fans should always go to CPU_FAN header.

Now the pump:

A- if you plug it in the CPU_OPT header it will read 7200 rpm although the header is set to standard and not full speed.

B- if you plug it in Chassis Fan header it will read 5400 rpm on standard speed and 7200 rpm on full speed.

I really do not understand why Cooler Master refuses to disclose the pump speed, most manufacturers include the pump motor speed in the specs. Weird!
