How can I convert an MBR Hard Drive to GPT?

I am trying to convert my whole hard drive to GPT but when I use MiniTool Partition Wizard it gives me an error saying "This disk contains system partition and converting this disk to gpt." I want to convert it without erasing any of the files on the hard drive. The reason I am doing this is because I have a 5tb hard drive and I want it to be in a big chunk.

does this drive has the OS on it? If so then i don't think it is possible. You have to reinstall windows on that drive using a uEFI boot and then you can use it all.

otherwise you would have to buy another drive (2TB or under) clone the drive to the other drive so long as there is enough space, then wipe the 5Tb and convert it to a GPT then and just use it as a storage only drive.

Seems pretty confusing can I just buy another 2tb hard drive and merge it add it on to my c drive?

yea there are ways to convert it but none that are really 100% to work everytime.

You can't add it to the 2TB. You CAN however, mount the 5TB as a folder in the C: drive so everything in that folder is stored on the 5TB drive.
