Hey guys im wondering if my r9 390 can get to a sub gtx 1070 performance currently i oced my asus strix version to 1125 core and 1665 memory and get 1500+ on firestrike and 4500+ on time spy

Solution

no, they are not comparable performance wise

the 1070 will be ~40% faster, pretty huge chasm to overcome

Different tier. One is mainstream, one enthusiast.

I can, give or take, match a 1060 in modern games (based on benches I see of the 1060). That's still a gap from a 1070.

The 390 do not overlock well. You'll get 390x performance though at 1100/1600, so that's the best you can go for.

Still a powerful gpu, nothing causes me any real issues. Dx12 stuff it kills as well
