I'm building an amd pc for game development not gaming. i'm running

CPU: amd fx 6300
GPU: radeon r7 360 2g gddr5
PSU: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W 80
RAM: Hyper x Furry DDR 3
Cooling: Cryorg m9a

running an matx case

which motherboard should I get?

BIOSTAR TA970 Ver. 5.3 AM3+ AMD 970 + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS http://

or

Asrock 970m pro 3 http://?

I need an atx motherboard that will support usb 3, sata 3, enough power to support my cpu and gpu, good to decent cooling and supports amd fx, good bios and OC

my case is a gateway dx4720-3 so it has to be matx. which one should I get?

I don't know what your budget is, but there is no way the FX6300 build is cheaper than this.

The i3 is faster and offers a better upgrade path...

None of the microATX AM3+ boards are very good for overclocking. I don't recommend even trying. If I had to pick one, I would rather have the ASRock Pro3.

I highly recommend an i3 6100 instead. It's about 75% faster in single core performance and is even faster in mutlithreaded tasks.

i'd rather have intel too but not sure how much more better Is that i3 plus its a bit more pricey. I was suppose to stock with fx 4350 for budget but I decided o add bit more for multi task and possibly audio/music production purpose down the road. I can't afford anymore.

The i3 is faster and offers a better upgrade path. There is no upside whatsoever in getting a FX6300.

A new R7 360 is not a good buy. The faster GTX750ti is about the same price and the much faster RX460 is only a very little bit more.
